Introduction To College

Siirt University was established in 2007. Our School of Tourism and Hotel Management was established on May 25, and the department of "Recreation Management" within the School of Tourism and Hotel Management was deemed appropriate to open at 19.12.2018.

Especially the conjuncture we are in makes the relations with neighboring countries more meaningful and requires forward-looking planning and making decisions regarding this. This requirement also with Turkey, developing new tourism markets are increasingly political, which are increasing, being turned into a necessity engendered by the social and economic relations and to enter into facing a number of efforts to eliminate the need arising from the new approach is inevitable. At this point, institutional structuring should be undertaken in order to maximize the ongoing bilateral relations both with the states and in terms of tourist flow and, as a result, information sharing at various levels and to strengthen mutual relations.

More than 12 percent of Siirt University are foreign students from more than 30 different countries as a result of its location and effective international promotion activities, and this number will gradually increase within the scope of the strategy of internationalization of the university. In this context, it is thought that the Recreation Management department, which has new and popular features in our region, will be an important choice for foreign students as well. Within the framework of the Silk Road project developed by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), a significant development of tourism activities in terms of quality and quantity is expected in our region. Therefore, one of the requirements for all these developments to be carried out in a healthy way and to develop future-oriented approaches, and perhaps most importantly, will be the realization of student admission to the School of Tourism and Hotel Management established within our University and meeting the need for qualified manpower in the region.
